Dependency of libgflags2-2.2.1-6.1.i586.rpm

Name: libopenssl0_9_8-hmac

Project: SLE_11_SP4

Repository: oss

Title: HMAC files for FIPS-140-2 integrity checking of the openssl shared libraries

Description:
The libopenssl0_9_8-hmac package is needed to operate the openssl
shared library in FIPS-140-2 compliant mode. It contains the HMAC
hashes that are used for integrity checking when openssl runs its
self-test routines upon start-up. If this package is installed, then
the FIPS-140-2 self-tests are executed even if the library does not run
in FIPS mode. As a result, the startup of binaries takes a long time.
If you do not need FIPS mode of openssl, you may remove this package so
that the self-tests are not executed.

The FIPS compliant operation of the openssl shared libraries is NOT
possible without the HMAC hashes contained in this package!

Please also read /usr/share/doc/packages/openssl/README-FIPS.txt ,
contained in the package named "openssl".

Derivation and License

OpenSSL is based on the excellent SSLeay library developed by Eric A.
Young and Tim J. Hudson. The OpenSSL toolkit is licensed under an
Apache-style license, which basically means that you are free to get it
and to use it for commercial and noncommercial purposes.

Please read the file /usr/share/doc/packages/openssl/README-FIPS.txt
for information on FIPS-140-2 compliant mode of operation of the
openssl shared libraries.
